2008 Western States Police and Fire Games The 2008 Western States Police and Fire Games are right around the corner and retired CCPOA Member Larry "L.C." Collins has a challenge for all CCPOA Members - Let's Get Out and Play!The games will be held in Boise, Idaho, August 16 -23, 2008. And according to L.C. "there is something for everyone, young and old." L.C. goes on to say, "There are over 60 events to choose from for men and women of all age groups. Boise is a very family friendly city and one sponsor has already reserved a water park for both participants and their families at no charge." "I would like to encourage all of my correctional brothers and sisters to come out and compete against Firefighters, Police Officers, Sheriffs Deputies, and Highway Patrol Officers. I challenge you to come as individuals and teams to compete in these highly competitive games. I look forward to seeing you there representing yourselves, your facility, and CCPOA. Let's stand up for our motto of "Working the Toughest Beat in the State!" L.C. has been attending the CCPOA Academy presentations challenging cadets to step up and represent our profession for the last year. Competitors are expected from hundreds of police and fire agencies all over the west. The Boise games will even debut a new event - drag racing. Eligible competitors must be full time Firefighters of Law Enforcement employees. Events are open to the public and free of charge. L.C. is collecting CCPOA Athletic Questionnaires. You can download a copy of the questionnaire by going to the CCPOA Resources section of www.ccpoa.org.
